5 Questions with…Brian Solomon, Head Recruiter

This week, Head Recruiter for On Deck Brian Solomon sheds some light on one of our most outward facing departments: Talent Management.

1. Explain what you do in your role with On Deck.

I support our sales, corporate, and technology teams with all of their hiring needs. I get to work with our most experienced employees in finding great people for our organization, as well as new employees to ensure they get off to a great start.

2. Why did you decide to join On Deck?

On Deck provided me an opportunity to contribute my years of recruiting experience in a fun, creative, dynamic, and fast environment.

3. In your opinion, what is the best part about working at On Deck?

The culture is unlike any I’ve seen before or been a part of. We have an open, fun, casual, and non-hierarchical culture that truly encourages teamwork, collaboration, and hard work. Everyone is motivated to work hard for ourselves, each other, our customers, and the community.

4. What advice would you give to someone looking to join the company?

Come in with the mindset that you will be part of a growing and evolving team where everyone contributes. We are always looking for new ways to improve how we do business – which means we’re forever improving and changing.

5. What would someone be surprised to know about On Deck?

Egos are checked at the curb outside here! Everyone is really open to constructive, honest, reinforcing, and in-the-moment feedback.
